Aalto charges among the higher Finnish fees, but its scholarships are generous and the region’s student housing keeps living costs down.

- Scholarships: Aalto offers tuition waivers of 50% or 100%, with some packages adding a relocation or living grant for top applicants

Life, safety & culture

How to apply & the bureaucracy
Aalto admits through Studyinfo on the national timeline; design and some programmes add their own steps.
- Apply via Studyinfo.fi; the main application for autumn intake opens in early January
- Admission requirements: a relevant bachelor’s, transcripts, motivation letter and references; the GRE is recommended for some tech and business master’s, and design needs a portfolio
- Language proficiency: typically IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT ~92
- After admission, apply for the residence permit through Migri straight away - it covers your full study period
