Your bridge to a university in Europe

Every city on this page accepts applications from students living in Africa, and almost the entire process happens online, from home. We work with students from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Zambia, South Africa, Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Mali, Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso and Gambia. You do not have to travel to Europe to apply, and you do not need a relative there - you need the right country, the right degree programme and a file that survives the visa interview.

Your language shapes your shortlist more than your grades do. If you studied in English - Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa - then Finland, the Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, Portugal, Italy, Türkiye and Germany all teach complete bachelor’s and master’s degrees entirely in English, usually on an IELTS or TOEFL score, with no local language required to start. Students from francophone Africa - Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Mali, Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, DR Congo - apply to France in French through Campus France, and students from Angola, Mozambique, Cabo Verde and Guinea-Bissau study in Portugal in Portuguese.

What changes from city to city is money. Public universities in Germany charge no tuition at all, and the visa asks for a blocked account of roughly €11,900 for your first year - that money stays yours and is paid back to you monthly. France charges around €2,900 a year for a non-EU bachelor’s and asks for far smaller proof of funds. Poland, Hungary, Portugal and Türkiye combine low tuition with living costs well below the European average, and the Stipendium Hungaricum and Türkiye Bursları scholarships fund full degrees for students from many African countries.

Then think about what happens after graduation. Germany gives you an 18-month job-search visa, Finland two years, France a 12-month APS - enough time to turn a degree into a work contract and, later, an EU Blue Card and permanent residence.
